The PTA Needs You to Go Shopping

Sample gift certificates available

That’s right.

We’ve got a great year round fundraising program but to be successful, we need you to shop at the grocery store, the coffee shop, and go out to eat—all the places you go everyday. And the good news is you won’t spend any more money than you normally would at these stores.

It Gets Better!
The SCRIP  program allows everyone, regardless of income, to support Parkside at some level without spending more than you already do on everyday purchases. All you do is your everyday shopping. It doesn’t require selling products door-to-door. Restaurants and stores you already frequent have agreed to donate a percentage of the amount you spend back to our organization—2% to 20% of your purchase.

How Does It Work?
With the support of local business,  we purchase the exact same gift certificates and gift cards (SCRIP) you can get at the store but at a discounted price and sell it to you at the face value, so the difference equals instant profit for Parkside. You are raising money for our kids and it costs you nothing!

It Adds Up Fast
Your family  can generate profit for Parkside every time you shop, rent videos, or go out to dinner using SCRIP gift cards and certificates rather than cash. Imagine if we could get 100 families purchasing $100 in scrip per week, with a 5% average return, we would raise $26,000 annually! Just think of Safeway, Fred Meyer/QFC and other stores that you buy from on a regular basis, it adds up fast!

How To Purchase SCRIP
SCRIP will be available in the Parkside Family Center, room 9 during the school year, Friday mornings & afternoons 9:00 - 9:30am and 3:30 - 4:00pm.

Please call us with your order today! Janel Gibb 206.824.4880, or Erika Simmons  or email your order to janelhg@aol.com.

 It's Free, It's Easy, It's Powerful

The Safeway Corporation is discontinuing their traditional scrip fundraising program and is now working with eScrip eScrip electronically tracks your purchases every time you swipe your Safeway Club Card. At the end of the month, your purchases are totaled and a check is sent to Parkside automatically.  That's it!  Nothing to buy!

If you choose to register your debit and credit card(s) with eScrip you will also be supporting Parkside when you shop at  Whole Foods, Eddie Bauer, Office Max or eat at Round Table Pizza and Claim Jumper Restaurants.

It’s easy to get started:

1. Find your Safeway Club Card number.  If you are like me and haven't seen your club card since it was first issued, you can call 1-877-SAFEWAY (1-877-723-3929) and speak with a very nice customer service rep.  They will ask you a few simple security questions, and then give you your club card number right over the phone.

2.Then go to www.eScrip.com

3. Click on "sign up".

4. Follow the instructions.  The Parkside PTA Group ID is:  500001650

If you have questions about eScrip, contact Janel Gibb 206.824.4880 or janelhg@aol.com

Pass it on to friends and family so they can support Parkside too!

See How Fast Your Safeway Purchases Can Add Up

1% on monthly purchases between $0-$300
Plus 2% on monthly purchases between $300-$500
Plus 3% on monthly purchases between $500-$600
Plus 4% on monthly purchases above $600

Here’s how it works:

One family’s monthly purchases of $525.00…
$300 x 1% = $3
+$200 x 2% = $4
+$25 x 3% = .75
= $7.75Annually, that’s $93 for Parkside students!

Office Depot HomeHelp Parkside get credit for FREE SUPPLIES!  Just provides Parkside's 5% Back to Schools Program ID number 7010624 when you make purchase at Office DEPOT.  And Parkside will receive credit equal to 5% of qualifying purchase to use for FREE SUPPLIES!

If you shop in person you don't have to remember the school's number, you only have to tell the cashier the name of the school.  (REMEMBER, they won't ask you.  You must ask them to look it up for you) and they have a book they look it up and scan the bar code for the school.
