What is an Art Docent
Program?
An art docent
program is designed to give enthusiastic volunteers the opportunity to go into
classrooms once per month, or more and talk with students about art, discussing
an artists/art prints and then giving the students a chance to create their own
artwork based around what they’ve learned. It’s one way we can expose
children to art on a regular basis.
About the Program
The Art Docent
Program at Parkside began in 2005 with the support of a $250 grant for art
prints from the
Highline Foundation for Excellence,
and funding from the Parkside PTA for art supplies.
Volunteers
Needed, training & supplies provided.
The kids provide the
joy and reward! The Art Docent Program is
collecting supplies. We would welcome donations of: Magazines,
feathers, glitter, fabric, yarn, craft papers, and pom poms.
If you have other items that you think could be used contact Patrice
at pjaahardy@comcast.net
Remember the Parkside PTA is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization
and as such your donation maybe tax deductible!
