Planning Your Calendar For 2009-10 School Year? 
 The School district has posted a preliminary calendar for 2009-2010 with the major dates click on the following link   2009-2010 Tentative Calendar - waiver days and early release days not yet included so expect changes.

Keep Clipping and Saving  Campbell’s Soup Label UPC codes www.labelsforeducation.com and Box Tops for Education pink square 10 cent coupons www.boxtops4education.com/ over the summer.  We will be collecting them again in the fall.  They add up quick for cash and supplies to support Parkside.  This year alone, Parkside raised over $700 to support the Family Center from collecting the Box Tops coupons.  Keep up the clipping!!

Support the Parkside Orchestra with Your Morning Cup of Coffee
All you have to do is order 2 pounds of coffee online from Caffe D’arte.  They will deliver the coffee to your home or work place.  The order will be mailed to you every month until you cancel.  Parkside Orchestra will receive $4 for each pound of coffee that is purchased.  The money earned will be used to repair instruments, replace strings and bows, and purchase new music.  If you are a coffee drinker, why not considering buying a few pounds of coffee a year through Caffe D’arte and support Parkside orchestra all at once!  Here’s how:

New Scrip - Emerald City Smoothie -  ECS is home to smoothie recipes that won the "best of" smoothie category in a Seattle poll, featuring a unique blending process that creates a smooth, refreshing, but never-watery, taste.  Gift cards are available in $10 denominations, now in stock, $25 cards. Parkside earns 10% for every card purchased.  There is a new ECS location in the Normandy Park Town Center 19803 1st Ave, Building A, Suite 101. Their hours are M-F 7am-7pm, Sat 9am-6pm, and Sun 10am-5pm.
 
Pick up some scrip gift card from the PTA on Tuesdays and Fridays in the Main Office from 3:50-4:15,  also at the end of Chess Club in the library on Tuesdays.  Use scrip gift cards to pay for your purchases or gift them as gifts.  We have something for everyone…. Game Stop $25, iTunes $15, Starbucks $5,& $10, AMC Theaters $25 and much more.  Check out the scrip shopping list for gift card that are ready for purchase.  If you have questions or would like us to get your order ready for a quick pick up after school on another day email Erika at scrip@parksidepta.org   Scrip is a year-round fundraiser, each merchants pays us a  2%-24% commission for each gift card we sell.  Every purchase benefits Parkside!

Volunteers Wanted! We are putting together a team of parents to help with the Parkside PTA fundraising activities for next year. We already have many wonderful parents who have agreed to volunteer next year. Some of the positions that are currently open are:
●Staff Appreciation Chair: Show our teachers that you care by working with the PTA to make them feel special.
● eScrip registration: By getting the word out about purchasing scrip online, you can show parents how to raise money for the school without spending a penny!

● Legislative Chair: Keep informed and tell others about legislation that affects our public school system.
If you are interested in filling any of these positions, or have an idea for a project or activity you'd like to coordinate, please contact PTA president-elect Josefin Kannin at pres@parksidepta.org.
