Thursday, May 8, 6:00- 7:30pm Family Reading Night & Science Fair Visit our 3rd annual Science Fair in the Gym. Fun family activities in classrooms though out the school, and every enrolled Parkside student will receive a free book from Page Ahead.

Relocation Info Meetings for Parents on Tuesday Over the summer Parkside will be making the transition to the interim site at Manhattan. To help families prepare for the new location Ms. Lamoureux, a district transportation representative, and the project manager will be meeting with families in the Parkside Family Center to share information and to answer questions Tuesday, May 19. Choose the time that works best for your family, 9:00 am, 4:00 pm or 6:30pm. There is another info meeting also scheduled for June 16.

Parkside’s Next Skating Night is Tuesday, May 13

Parkside's second Skating Night is coming up quickly! It will be Tuesday, May 12 from 6:30-8:30pm at Pattison’s West Skating Center in Federal Way. The skating center is closed to the general public this night and is just open for Parkside students and their friends and families. It is a very fun night for our students and families! The cost will be $4 for admission which includes roller skate rental. It will be an additional $2 if they would like to rent roller blades. Spring Cultural Night and Carnival!

Would you like to share your culture or heritage with Parkside? Trisha Renner is the Carnival coordinator and she would love some help. Trisha needs people/families, for games, entertainment, food, decorations and learning about different countries. Not only can you play a game, but you can learn about the country that the game is from. Trisha need to put the planning teams and countries together this month.

Parkside Elementary School will have a new building in 2009
The architects TCF Architects also designed the North Hill, Cedarhurst
and Midway Elementary Schools.
Classroom clusters will be located downhill on an already cleared area facing the woods. Support spaces are perpendicular to the classroom wings on the uphill portion of the site, creating an L-shaped structure. The goal is to preserve the site while emphasizing the importance of nature to its students.
It is designed to exceed the Washington Sustainable Schools Protocol. Sustainable elements include daylighting, recycled materials, energy-efficient mechanical and electrical systems and an energy-efficient building envelope.During the construction, all students will attend Parkside at the Manhattan School as an interim site.
